Paul Galland (November 1919〔Baker 1996, p. 2.〕—31 October 1942) was a German Luftwaffe ace and brother of Luftwaffe aces Adolf Galland and Wilhelm-Ferdinand Galland. He claimed 17 aerial victories in 107 combat missions. Leutnant Galland joined 8./Jagdgeschwader 26, commanded by his brother Adolf, in February 1941.〔For an explanation of the meaning of ''Luftwaffe'' unit designation see Organisation of the Luftwaffe during World War II.〕 He claimed his first victory on 6 July, a Spitfire shot down, and by end of 1941 his score had reached three. He recorded his 10th victory on 3 May 1942, a Spitfire downed over Calais. On 31 October 1942 Galland participated as escort to a day fighter-bomber raid on Canterbury.
